Aerospace Warranty Management SystemThe SolutionWarranty is a promise. The foremost objective of a warranty or guarantee is to motivate manufacturers and contractors to design, produce, and attest to the quality or durability of a product or service (i.e. reliability). In instances where products & services do not perform as contractually agreed, a reimbursement to the airline is due. Enforcing warranties and guarantees is an effective mechanism to ensure an OEM continually improves their product. Erosion of your warranty rights deprives your airline of operating money and can directly result in a lower level of product quality and service. If a service life isn't met as agreed, the responsibility does not lie with the customer. Rectification of quality defects rests solely on the manufacturer or provider. When maintenance cost per flight hour goes up, no one knows why. One place to start looking is the repair & replacement of parts. Demand longer filing periods in your contracts rather than accepting the standard warranty/guarantee provisions. These provisions are written by the OEM, for the benefit of the OEM. Make sure your contracts include explicit language for OEM warranty response time and enforce it. Ensure your warranty staff has the necessary tools to recover what should not have been spent in the first place. Benefits of an Active Aircraft Warranty Administration
